Electronic product development · Northern Italy

Build the electronics your product depends on.

I design custom PCBs, write embedded firmware and bring up boards on the bench. My work covers industrial instruments, mechanisms and space hardware, including integration with sensors, actuators and the wider system.

Scope of work

PCB design, firmware and integration.

I work on controller boards, measurement electronics and embedded systems. Assignments include new designs, changes to existing products and investigation of faults on prototype hardware.

I consider the board alongside its firmware, wiring, power supply and mechanical constraints. At the bench, I use measurements and diagnostic code to isolate faults and check the next revision.

Selected work

Two project records.

Controller electronics for a docking mechanism and a portable measurement instrument. Each record describes my contribution and the resulting hardware.

Portable measurement instrument architecture

ENSYS · Portable instrumentation

From laboratory setup to portable instrument

I designed the electronic architecture and PCB for a compact, battery-powered instrument, reproducing an existing laboratory measurement setup with local logging and Bluetooth connectivity.

Stellar Project · Small-satellite systems

Small-satellite docking controller electronics

I supported Stellar Project in developing a controller-board engineering qualification model representative of the flight unit’s form, fit and function. My scope covered electronic design, firmware, bring-up and integration support.

Capabilities

Engineering services.

01

Electronic development

Architecture, component selection, schematic design, PCB layout and prototype revisions.

02

Embedded firmware

Microcontroller firmware for sensing, actuation, communications, control logic and diagnostics.

03

Bring-up & debugging

Board checks, diagnostic firmware and bench measurements to isolate power, clock and interface faults.

04

System integration

Interface definition and testing across controllers, sensors, motors, displays and mechanical assemblies.

05

Legacy redesign

Analysis of existing hardware and firmware before replacing unavailable components or migrating functions.

06

Product support

Investigation of technical issues, prototype testing and documentation for subsequent revisions.

Working method

Requirements, tests, revisions.

I agree the interfaces and constraints first, then check the decisions that need evidence from hardware.

  1. Define the system

Document the required behaviour, power budget, interfaces, mechanical envelope and existing hardware.

  2. Check uncertain points

Use calculations, evaluation boards or focused tests to check component and architecture choices.

  3. Bring up the board

Check supplies, reset and clocks, then exercise interfaces with diagnostic firmware and bench instruments.

  4. Record and revise

Document measurements and faults, make the changes and repeat the relevant checks.

About

Giulio Peloso.

I am an electronics and embedded systems engineer based in Northern Italy. I work with companies across Italy and Europe on new electronic designs, existing-product modifications, prototype bring-up and technical investigations.

When a project needs expertise in adjacent disciplines, I work with a network of professional specialists.
